Sarwari Begum, born allegedly 10.07.1989

Sarwari Begum is from a very poor, although comparatively intact, family. Her father runs a small vegetable shop in the slums of Calcutta the proceedings of which hardly manage to feed the family of six. Unlike Sarwari's mother he is able to read and write and has also taught his children how to do this. Sarwari, known to her friends as Sony, owns a school uniform, two good dresses and three old ones for life at home. She doesn't have any toys and apart from her schoolbooks owns no books either. Before she came to H.E.L.G.O. at the age of nine she hadn't even painted a single picture.
